What is the best way to save money after the wedding?

Just Jess questioned:
My Fiancee and I are looking to get married in April of 2009. Starting in december of this year, he will be finishing with school and his current job has offered him a job at 55,000 a year. I will still be only making about 15,000 at the time. Our wedding right now looks like it will be costing us about 30,000. We will be able to afford the wedding/honeymoon without having to take out a personal loan.

But, this means that we might have to live with my parents for a few months to save money before we go to find a place of our own. He likes the thought of living here together for a while becuase it will give us a chance to get organized and pack the things that we are going to take/get rid of the things we will not take. etc… plus, my parents would not charge rent of any kind.

The other option is to find somewhere to rent.. Is renting a better thought? I dont see how it is possible to save money for a home while renting.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
The price of the wedding COULD be less…the thing is that I have a HUGE family. My family alone (with moms side/dads side) consists of nearly 200 people, and that does not include close friends of the family..or His family and friends … Most of the reception places that dont cost as much also are not huge enough for the amount of people. The money part wouldnt go towards elaborate decorations etc… but to accomidate all the family

We have discussed changing the date but April 5th 2009 is a very special date…for both of us, for reasons both inside and outside of our relationship. So yes, the date COULD be went, but we’d prefer it if it didnt have to be.

How To Save Money On Gas – Tips On Saving Money On Gas!

I know whats on everyones mind these days. I don’t need a crystal ball or tarot cards to tell you the answer: How do I save money on gas? I agree that gas prices have started to go through the roof. At nearly $4 a gallon, it is starting to affect more Americans than just about anything else. Here are some tips to keep you from shelling out more money at the pump than you need to and really save money on gas.

The first thing that you can do is check your air filter. This is a very simple step to take. If you aren’t sure on where your air filter is located, check your operator’s manual for a simple diagram and how to check it. All this requires is for you to pop it open, remove the filter and see if its ancient and clogged. If it is, that means your car is working harder than it needs to be when running, costing you money.

The second simple step that you can do is check your tires air pressure. This is something that needs to be done regularly and yet most people over look it. Not checking your tires air pressure can lead to less maneuverability, uneven tire wear, alignment issues and less gas mileage on your vehicle. Just go to a gas station that has free air pump. Look on the side of your tires to see what the recommended psi is and adjust accordingly.

Last, do yourself a favor and buy regular unleaded gas. I know a lot of manuals say that your engine requires “special” gas for peak performance. That simply isn’t right. With the technology of cars today, the engines are way more efficient than even just a few years ago. Regular gas will work just as excellent as any premium gas. So stop wasting money on trivial upgrades.

These are 3 simple things that you can take advantage of today to improve your mpg and star saving money on gas! Don’t be selfish and pass these tips on to help your friends.

I am going to have a house custom built in the next year. How to Save Money From Your Personal Finances

It’s getting harder and harder to find ways to save money when prices continue going up. Here are some tips to help you save money from your personal finances.

Save money on gas. Take public transportation or look for a carpool in your area. Walk or ride your bike if the destination is not too far away and you don’t have a lot to carry. If you must drive, drive to consciously get better gas mileage. When you start to accelerate, go slowly. Rushing away from stops causes your vehicle to consume a fantastic deal of fuel. When you are stuck in stop and go traffic, leave a huge space in front of you and keep rolling. Try not to come to a complete stop to get better gas mileage.

Help your personal finances by avoiding fees. Pay your bills on time so you never have to pay late charges. Don’t buy something unless you know you have the money in the bank to cover it so that your checks don’t bounce and cost you money. Only use your bank’s ATMs to avoid charges from other banks. Always check your bank statements, credit card statements and other bills to be sure that no mistakes were made and you are not being over charged.

Stop smoking and drinking alcohol to save money and improve your personal finances. Not only do you have to pay for alcohol and cigarettes, but your medical costs rise as well. You have to pay a higher premium for health insurance and life insurance. Most likely you will be unhealthier (if not now, then later on) and have more doctor visits. You will also have to buy more medications, too.

Also, regular check-ups with the doctor have been shown to improve health and prevent future illnesses, decreasing the cost of healthcare. Regularly visiting the dentist will help you save money from your personal finances as well, preventing you from needing more costly dental care down the road.

Another one of the ways to save money is to implement games to motivate yourself to stop certain behaviors; like smoking, drinking or swearing. Every time you do so, pay a certain amount of money, a nickel, a quarter, a dollar, etc. Then place away all that money and save it for the future.

Try these ways to save money to help your personal finances today.
